I wanted to create a smart home, so I knew that I needed a Smart Hub (Samsung, Philips Hue Bridge, Wink, etc), and a device I could talk to and impress my friends. It was between the Google Voice and Amazon Echo…

After looking at compatibility and functionality, I decided to go with the Echo. I immediately went to purchase and realized there was a cheaper version, the Echo Dot! I planned on routing the Echo Dot through my home theater, so I wasn’t worried about the tiny speaker compared to the regular Echo.

Now I currently have a Samsung Smart Things Hub, Water Leak Sensor, Schlage Smart Lock, and an Echo Dot letting me use my voice to control it all! I love it!
